A very interesting fictional book about a search for a Fresnel Lens is "A Salty Piece of Land" by Jimmy Buffet. If you are a fan of lighthouses and old sailing ships, I think you will enjoy this fun book.

Congratulations to the winning bidders on both the Fourteen Foot Bank Lighthouse and the Lubec Lighthouse. I was bidding on both of them and in the case of the 14ft Bank, the price just gor too high for me. In the case of the Lubec, reality set in and I realized how difficult it was going to be to do the right thing for this national treasure. Me being in Delaware and the Lighthouse being in Maine. I appaud the winners and wish them the best. These lighthouses need good lighthouse keepers. They have survivered the test of time and deserve the very best caretakers.

Gentlemen, Thanks for doing what I'd hoped to do. If I can help in any way, please let me know. It is not important as to whom these treasures are acquired by. But it is important that someone is concerned and care about the such examples of things of the past.
