Road to the Lighthouse!
8:00 am to 6:00 pm
Join the Chesapeake Chapter and the lighthouse organizations of Maryland for the 6th Annual Maryland Lighthouse Challenge. In light of 2008 being an election year, we will be incorporating an election year theme!
The original ten Challenge lights remain the same: Turkey Point, Concord Point, Seven Foot Knoll and Chesapeake Lightship, Hooper Strait, Drum Point, Cove Point, Point Lookout, Piney Point and Fort Washington.
Visit any or all during the two day period (in any order) and collect a complimentary souvenir at each. Visit all ten and collect a special souvenir, and “cast a vote” for your favorite!

The New Jersey Lighthouse Challenge® is a not-for-profit event presented by The New Jersey Lighthouse Society, Inc. for the purpose of raising public awareness of lighthouses in general and New Jersey’s lighthouses, specifically. It is a rain or shine, two-day event held during the third weekend in October when 11 land-based lighthouses are open for visitation and climbing. During this weekend, the public is invited to visit any or all of the sites along the Challenge route.
At each site visited, participants of the Challenge receive a complimentary souvenir depicting that particular
lighthouse. Collect all 13 and you will receive a complimentary “completion” souvenir at your final stop
to commemorate your achievement.
