The Cape St. George Light on St. George Island, Florida, will be relit at midnight on October 31, 2009, for the first time since the lighthouse was decommissioned in 1994. The public is invited to participate in the historic lighting at St. George Lighthouse Park.

Huntington Hrabor Lighthouse Huntington Bay, NY—Plans are set for the third Annual Lighthouse Music Fest. Raft up your boat to enjoy this unique musical show, the worlds only music festival live from the roof of a historic Lighthouse in the middle of a scenic bay. The Music Fest is scheduled for Labor Day Weekend, Saturday, September 5th from 11 am – 6pm EDT. (Raindate: Sunday, September 6th.) Last year, a crowd of over 2000 music-loving mariners enjoyed this FREE annual celebration of “See the Light and Feel the Sound.” As in years past, this years talented bands will provide fantastic music from noon til sunset. The incredible pirates from Ye Pyrate Brotherhood will be back again adding fun and mischief as they roam boat to boat to plunder donations for ongoing restoration and maintenance. The scheduled vintage air show will be bigger and better, too!

Fifty-two of Maine’s 63 lighthouses will be open to the public on Saturday, Sept. 12, as part of the first Open Lighthouse Day. The event is designed to attract visitors to the state’s lighthouses and raise public awareness of Maine’s maritime heritage.
Maine Governor John Baldacci, representatives of the Coast Guard and state tourism officials will announce details of the day at a press conference at Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth June 30 at 2:00 p.m. EDT.

England, Scotland and Wales Lighthouses
The eighth International Lighthouse Weekend intends to raise the profile of lighthouses, lightvessels and other navigational aids, promoting our maritime heritage.
Many lighthouses and places of associated interest will be open to the public, and there will be special events at lighthouses and lightvessels both at home and abroad.
There will be radio and press publicity before the event. Trusts and Friends groups will be able to use this day to raise awareness of their work and involvement in the preservation of the history of lightkeeping.

12th Annual Fathers Day Cruise on the St. Mary’s River - Sunday, June 21
The day long narrated cruise includes a trip to the DeTour Reef Light with many photo opportunities while circling around the Light. After circling the Light, the narrated cruise proceeds up river and through the Soo Locks.

The cruisers are treated to a brunch, buffet luncheon, and afternoon snack.
This cruise is sponsored by the DeTour Reef Light Preservation Society, a 501c3 organization. Proceeds will be used to continue the restoration and maintainence of the DeTour Reef Light.

Four days cruising the Great lakes! Sunday morning depart Hancock in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, pass Jacobsville, Huron Island, Big Bay, Granite Island and Marquette lighthouses. Spend the night in Marquette.
Monday, pass Grand Island North, Au Sable Point, Crisp Point, Whitefish Point, Gros Cap, Ile Parisienne and Point Iroquois lighthouses and pass through the Soo Locks before spending the night in Sault Ste. Marie.
Tuesday pass down the St. Marys River through the Rock Cut, past Round Island, Pipe Island and Detour Reef lighthouse before entering Lake Huron to view the lights at Marin Reef, Spectacle Reef, Bois Blanc Island, Round Island and Round Island Passage and the new Wawatam light before spending the night in St. Ignace.
