After much renovation, the decommissioned Belle Tout Lighthouse near Beachy Head, UK, is set to open as a hotel. And in honor of that, they are selling a nude calendar of the men that built it…The Belle Tout Builder Boys Charity Calendar 2010.
Okay, almost nude anyway, and the calendar profits are for charity. From the new Belle Tout website:
Belle Tout has been extensively renovated by a gorgeous bunch of hunky builders who kindly agreed to pose naked for a charity calendar. In aid of Everyman it raises awareness of testicular and prostate cancer and hopes to stamp it out altogether.
Calendars can be purchased directly from the Belle Tout website and from the beginning of November, selected stockists in the South East. We hope to generate as much awareness as possible for Everyman, and to sell lots of calendars where all profit goes to charity.
So of course I had to check it out. And Rob Wassell, founder of the Belle Tout Trust, which had originally formed in hopes of buying the lighthouse, has a preview picture of the “hunky builders.”
They will ship overseas, but do require you to contact them first to get proper shipping rates. And if you are a resident of the U.K., you can also enter to win a weekend at Belle Tout Lighthouse Hotel. All you need to do is “Spot the Builder” in the picture; select it and fill in your contact information. But again, it’s only for residents of the U.K., so if you’re in the US, Canada or Australia, you’re out of luck, like I am. Darn.
Rob also has photos of the rooms on his Flickr account, you might want to check them out. But in the meantime, here’s a peak at the lantern room. Wouldn’t you just love to sit up there on a nice August day and look out? Beautiful.

What a view, eh? So, if you’re in the UK, be sure to enter for a chance to spend a weekend enjoying the view. And if you’re not, you can still enjoy the view of the builders.
