6th Annual Maryland Lighthouse Challenge

September 20, 2008toSeptember 21, 2008

Road to the Lighthouse!

8:00 am to 6:00 pm

Join the Chesapeake Chapter and the lighthouse organizations of Maryland for the 6th Annual Maryland Lighthouse Challenge. In light of 2008 being an election year, we will be incorporating an election year theme!

The original ten Challenge lights remain the same: Turkey Point, Concord Point, Seven Foot Knoll and Chesapeake Lightship, Hooper Strait, Drum Point, Cove Point, Point Lookout, Piney Point and Fort Washington.

Visit any or all during the two day period (in any order) and collect a complimentary souvenir at each. Visit all ten and collect a special souvenir, and “cast a vote” for your favorite!

For an even greater challenge we are including two 2008 BONUS LIGHTS to this year’s event - offshore Sandy Point Shoal Lighthouse (can be viewed from land), and the newly constructed Blackstone Lighthouse Replica (a short boat ride from the St. Clement’s Island Museum). Note: Due to the additional time it will take to see them, Bonus Lights are optional “add-on” attractions and do not count toward Challenge completion.

More info including brochure at Chesapeake Lights.
