Cape Blanco Lighthouse Needs Operator

Curry County (Oregon) Commissioner Georgia Nowlin recently told the Board of Commissioners that the Bureau of Land Management has decided it is not renewing its contract to operate the Cape Blanco Lighthouse (Port Orford).
“Someone has to step up or the lighthouse will be closed to the public,” said Nowlin. “Oregon State Parks and the BLM are bickering. They better figure it out because the lease expires on March 31, 2009.”
