Lighthouse Home For Sale

A lighthouse home mentioned briefly on this site back in July has gone on the market. The home, a 72 foot tall lighthouse, with five levels, one bedroom, two full bathrooms, four living areas and about 2,200 square feet of living space in Jonestown, TX, has an asking price of $1.5 million dollars. The home was built as a tribute to the owner’s late father, a veteran of Britain’s Royal Navy and who loved everything nautical.
The home, sitting on a lake, comes with a rentable 1,172 square foot apartment over the three car garage. On the hill next to the lighthouse is an outdoor recreational area, including a gazebo with a stained-concrete floor, a small gated bridge, a heated pool, a spa, two waterfalls, a slide, a cave you can swim into and a cabana. The cabana has two half-bathrooms and a full kitchen. A few steps away is a large koi pond and a flagpole.
Sounds like a deal to me. The home was featured on HGTV a few years ago, so may be familiar to some readers.
The owners, Roger Storer and Lark Doley, are planning to move onto new adventures. They’ve bought beachfront property in Belize, where they will be building their new home. They’ve also purchased a five acre island eight miles offshore from there, where they intend to build a vacation spot for underprivileged children.
The full story on this amazing home is at the Statesman Online and is listed at Turnquist Partners Realtors (good photos).
