Four Star Hotel On the Market
Have you recently won the lottery? Do you have $2.5 million burning a hole in your pocket? Do you want to operate a hotel and restaurant? Well, here’s a deal for you if you do. Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel (an active aid to navigation) on the west coast of Scotland has recently come onto the market. Besides being a beacon guiding sailors to the shore, it also serves as a beacon guiding those who might have imbibed a little too much to their rooms at the hotel it also hosts.
It sits on twenty acres, and hosts six stunning rooms with views, and five cottage suites along with a 28 seat restaurant, catering to a “wide variety of tastes” and Taste of Scotland recommended. The sample menu on their website includes such tantalizing delights as this appetizer.
Game Terrine
Terrine of Mixed Coarse Game from the Craufurdland Estate
Enhanced with “Galloway Pride” Scotch Whisky, Herbs and Cream
Served with MacGregors Oatcakes and a Tangy Juniper Game Chutney
Or from the entree list:
Roast Stuffed Quail and Venison Loin
Whole Boneless Stuffed Quail from the Craufurdland Estate
Oven-Roasted and Set on Collops of Red Deer Loin
Finished in a Rich Berry and Game Stock Reduction
Yet all that pales in comparison to the breathtaking beauty of this lighthouse and its environs at the entrance to Loch Ryan. It was originally built in 1815, and was converted to this grand yet intimate hotel in 1995. The owners are accepting offers over £1.5 million GBP or $2.44 million USD. More photos of the rooms and restaurant (and of course the lighthouse) can be found on their website.
